Producing sustainable feed from insects to replace soy and fishmeal with a sustainable protein feed.

FarmInsect relies on residue from regional agriculture and the food industry to fatten black soldier fly larvae. The insect larvae are used as animal feed to replace soy and fishmeal as a sustainable and regional alternative. For farmers, the FarmInsect fattening facilities open up an additional value creating potential while at the same time promoting the regional circular economy, higher resource efficiency and significant CO2 savings.

To this end, FarmInsect has developed an automated fattening system that can be operated by farmers on their farms. FarmInsect continuously provides the farmers fattening facility with young larvae. This approach reduces complexity for the farmer making it easier to get started with fattening insects as livestock. The farmer can then use the fattened larvae directly as feed for his animals or alternatively can be sold to feed producers.
