Virtonomy on an award-winning spree

One of the biggest challenges for medical device manufacturers is the tremendous increase of costs that is associated with regulatory activities. At the same time less than 50 percent of medical devices clinical trials succeed. In addition, there is still a high percentage of underrepresented population groups in R&D and trials. Virtonomy’s mission is to change all of that.

Health tech start-up of the year

The Munich-based start-up has created its first web-based SaaS solution v-patients.com, which utilizes data-driven virtual patients and computer simulations for in-silico testing. This offers medical device developers the opportunity to test their implants efficiently and safely in a virtual environment. Design iteration cycles can already be performed early on using a high amount of digital evidence data that reduces the risk to fail and significantly accelerates time-to-market. As diverse population data is used, this approach also enables them to close the disparity gap in R&D and clinical trials.

After a successful product launch of v-Patients this year, Virtonomy was now crowned as one of the Top 3 Medical Companies 2021 at the 10th MEDICA Start-Up Competition. MEDICA is the world’s largest and leading international trade fair for the medical sector. Out of 250 international medtech companies, Virtonomy was chosen by a renowned jury of health tech experts and investors as one of the leading innovators worldwide. In the same week, Virtonomy was also awarded as Health Tech Start-Up of the Year as part of the Med-Tech World Awards. The Med-Tech World Awards celebrate the pioneers spearheading the future of medical technology and bio-science.
