VentureCon International by BayStartUP – A platform to bring Bavarian founders and the international VC landscape together

What are the key challenges for venture capital investors (VCs) during international investment rounds? How do international business angels and VCs assess the strengths and weaknesses of the European investor scene? What are the biggest mistakes of start-ups during their internationalization processes? These and similar questions served as the kick-off point for VentureCon International 2021, BayStartUP’s venture conference for digital and tech start-ups as well as international investors.

More than 120 attendees followed the invitation to join digital networking opportunities, and experience excellent start-up pitches from a variety of industry sectors. The conference started with prominent guests providing a deep-dive into the challenges of international financing rounds: Among the keynote speakers were representatives from Freigeist Capital and the High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) as well as Thomas Alt, former founder of metaio, a Munich-based Augmented Reality developer acquired by Apple in 2015.

From the VentureCon pitch stage to VentureCon investor: MegaDev on the road to success

Robert Maroschik, founder of MegaDev, the company behind the PC gaming assistant software PLITCH, is one of the founders attesting to the success of investor conferences. In 2019, he had still pitched his business model at BayStartUP’s annual international investor conference. Today, his company is doing so well that he is able to start acting as an investor himself. In the current issue of BayStartUP’s online magazine, he describes the growth path of his company and what it is like to invest in start-ups for the first time as a founder himself.

Save The Date: On October 19, 2021, BayStartUP’s next venture conference will take place. If you would like to get to know innovative B2B business models from international high-tech and software start-ups providing solutions for a variety of sectors such as mobility, energy, environment, industry, health or automation, contact venturecon@baystartup.de for further information on the event.
